"Super friendly staff"
Had a really nice time at japanla. The staff were super friendly. Easy to talk to. I had a couple questions, and they helped me out without making it weird or rushed. Just a chill, nice shopping experience overall.

I ordered a few small gifts from JapanLA, and I have to say the prices seemed reasonable to me. I always wonder if I’m just convincing myself something is a “good deal” because it’s cute, but compared to a lot of other shops online, this one didn’t feel overpriced.
Shipping was fine, and everything looked like the photos when it arrived. The items felt nice quality-wise, and they were unique enough that I didn’t mind spending the money. I’d probably order again, unless I suddenly decide I have no self-control around cute stuff.

"Checkout was fine, but a little annoying"
The payment did go through, but the checkout page really froze on me once and I had to start over. My order still went through in the end, so it wasn’t a huge deal, just kinda annoying.

"Looks just like the pics"
I ordered a cute plush and it was pretty much exactly like the photos. The size, colors, and little details all matched the listing, so there weren’t any weird surprises when it showed up. I really appreciate when that actually happens lol. Would defintely buy from japanla again.

I accidentally ordered the wrong size, but getting it exchanged was simple. They got back to me quick enough and laid out what I needed to do. My replacement showed up without any weird hassle or back-and-forth, so yeah, smooth overall.

"Super cute wrapping and no checkout drama"
I ordered a couple of gifts from JapanLA and decided to add the gift wrapping, mostly thinking, okay, let’s make my life easier. it turned out really cute. Not too much, not overly fancy, just neat and sweet in a way that felt thoughtful. My friend loved that it was basically ready to open right away, which made me feel like, yes, good call. Checkout was super easy too, and I didn’t have to message anyone or figure anything out. I’d definitely use the wrapping option again

"Such a fun little spot"
I really loved the vibe inside, it was so colorful and fun. felt cozy just walking around and looking at everything, like there was always something cute to notice. Defintely a place that just puts you in a good mood

I was anxious about ordering from outside the US, but their support team made me feel so much better. They replied quickly, walked me through the shipping details, and the package arrived safely without any issues. I’m genuinely so happy with the whole experience. Easy 5 stars from me.

"Cute stuff, but nothing was available"
I was really hoping to grab a few things from JapanLA, but pretty much everything I liked was sold out. I kept checking back, and it still didn’t really change—either no restock or the sizes were gone. It’s kind of frustrating seeing all these cute items on the site when you can’t actually buy them. I ended up leaving with nothing, which was a bummer...

I reached out to Japan LA on Instagram with a question about restocking and shipping, the first impression wasn’t great. It took a couple of days to hear back, and while they were polite when they did respond, the answer felt short and didn’t really clear things up much.
I still think their stuff is cute and I like the vibe of their page, but the communication could definitely be better. It wasn’t a terrible experience, just kind of underwhelming. I’d probably still order if I really wanted something, but I wish the interaction felt a little more helpful from the start.

"Fun event, and the wait was totally manageable"
I had a good time at the in-store event. The line moved faster than I expected, and the staff did a nice job keeping everything organized. There was a tiny bit of crowding at one point that felt avoidable, but overall it was super easy and fun.

I was surprised by the selection here. I came across things I haven’t really seen in other places, which made it feel like they put a little more thought into what they carry. To me, that made browsing a lot more fun.

The main issue for me was the fit. I checked the size chart before ordering, but the hoodie still ran smaller than I expected, and the tee had kind of a boxy shape. It wasn’t awful, just not as comfy as I was hoping.
I’d probably order from them again, but I’d definitely size up next time. I just wish the product pages made the fit a little clearer, actually.

"Cute stuff, but the packaging threw me off"
My order showed up on time and at first I was like, okay cool, no big deal. Then I noticed one corner of the box was crushed and instantly got annoyed because, come on, it’s cute little stuff and I expected it to be packed a bit better. Most of the items were fine, thankfully, but one small package was kind of bent. So yeah, I’m not mad exactly… actually, I guess it was still mostly okay. Just not as nice of an unboxing as I hoped.

"The rewards are actually easy to use"
I’ve ordered from JapanLA a few times now, and their loyalty rewards have been a nice little bonus. I’m particular about rewards programs because some of them feel like more trouble than they’re worth, but my points showed up quickly after my orders and were easy to apply at checkout.
I didn’t have to contact anyone or dig around trying to figure out hidden steps. It just worked the way I’d expect it to, which I really appreciate. Definitely makes me more likely to shop there again.

It was a good location and parking really wasn’t bad. I know people can be picky about that kind of thing, but I didn’t have much trouble finding a spot.

"Cute stuff, but quality is hit or miss"
I ordered a few things from Japan LA because everything looked super cute online. The designs are adorable, but for the price, the quality kind of works when it wants to. One shirt felt really nice and held up fine, but another had loose threads after just one wash. Not the worst purchase ever, but I definitely expected a little better.
